NBA Betting Free Pick: Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks

NBA FREE PICK: Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks

#537 Los Angeles -11.5 (Wednesday, January 22 @ 7:30 pm EST)

On Monday, we delivered a free pick winner on the New York Knicks as they cruised past Cleveland, 106-86. It was a rare comfortable win for the downtrodden organization and a bet that had more to do with the poor spot and ineptitude of the Cavs rather than the Knicks somehow turning the corner.

Meanwhile, the Lakers enter off of one of their worst losses of the season; a 139-107 beat down at Boston. It’s obviously a long NBA season and even the league’s elite suffer the occasional pitfall. If anything, with the game all but decided in the first half, no Laker player logged more than 29 minutes meaning with a day off, you’d expect Los Angeles to fire back with a big rested and ready effort.

The in-game matchup heavily favors the Lakers. The Knicks are one of the worst shooting teams in the league, particularly from deep (33.8%). With Los Angeles boasting one of the better paint defenses in the NBA, points from the underdog will be hard to come by.

We saw the Lakers fire back strong off of last week’s loss to Orlando with a dominant 124-115 win at Houston. Look for a similar focused effort tonight at Madison Square Garden.
