NBA Betting Free Pick: Sacramento Kings at Memphis Grizzlies

NBA FREE PICK: Sacramento Kings at Memphis Grizzlies

#535 Sacramento +3.5 (Friday, February 28 @ 8 pm EST)

Four straight losses out of the All-Star Break, the Memphis Grizzlies appear to have hit a little bit of a wall after being one of the league’s biggest surprises. They deserve plenty of credit for being able to avoid what was pegged as a rebuilding year, but with such a young core, and the schedule difficulty the rest of the way, seeing this squad struggle will be a more common occurrence. And for as good as Ja Morant has played, he’s at the forefront of the team’s regression which isn’t a shock considering he’s been asked to essentially carry a team as a rookie point guard. Adding to it is injuries to Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke; Jackson’s in particular hurts with his ability to stretch the floor and defend. And Dillon Brooks has emerged as a quality rotation player but he too has really regressed here of late.

The Kings have played better of late with wins over Memphis, the Clippers and Golden State out of the All-Star Break. They also had Oklahoma City all but buried last night but managed to cough it up late in a 112-108 spread covering loss. Note that De’Aaron Fox did not play against the Thunder though reports indicate he wants to give it a go tonight.

While Sacramento is in a back-to-back spot, it’s also a precarious one for Memphis who hasn’t played a home game since February 12. As much as I like the Grizzlies, their current form and injuries have me looking to bet against them for the time being.
