MLB Betting Free Pick: Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox

MLB FREE PICK: Toronto Blue Jays (Waguespack) at Boston Red Sox (Cashner)

#915 OVER 11.5 (Tuesday, July 16 @ 7:10 pm EST)

Newly acquired Andrew Cashner will make his Boston Red Sox debut tonight. Cashner is somehow the most profitable (+12 units) starting pitcher in MLB despite making 17 starts for the worst team in MLB. He also made 17 starts as an underdog and is now being priced as -180 favorite. The chalk is warranted as the Red Sox are obviously light years better than the Orioles. And to Cashner’s credit, he’s a heady guy who has figured out how to pitch despite a limited arsenal. But that doesn’t mean that Cashner is anything more than a bottom-tier AL starter hence his 4.90 xFIP.

Toronto’s Jacob Waguespack is nothing more than a Triple-A arm . In fact, his last three seasons at Triple-A saw the former 37th round pick post a north of 5.00 ERA. He was able to somewhat navigate this Red Sox lineup prior to the All-Star Break (5 IP, 3 ER) but is walking into a likely buzz saw tonight in Fenway.

With warm temps and two suspect starters facing lineups for a second straight time it sets up well for a handful of homers and runs tonight in Boston.

Using a low volume, high return approach, Lange's results in the NFL have been equally impressive with a 61% mark and over +49 units of profit on a 1, 1.5, and 2-unit scale since 2012.
